Wastewater Treatment

Wastewater Treatment

Due to constantly changing influent characteristics and ever-increasing regulatory requirements, the wastewater industry can be challenging. Whether your facility is discharging to a municipality or directly to a stream, Independence Solutions can keep your system operating at optimal efficiency and maintaining permit compliance.

Our Process: The most important step in any wastewater project is to see, smell, and experience your facility in person. After some brief discussions on the phone or over email, we will visit your facility and begin developing an understanding of your unique process and the challenges you are facing. Based on our experience, we will develop a plan and select the appropriate approach.

Consulting

  • In our experience, many operational and compliance issues can be resolved using creative and innovative process changes. Furthermore, small changes can make significant improvements to plant efficiency. By continuously looking at the big picture, we offer the ability to decrease capital and operating expenses while optimizing compliance.
  • Specific Pollutant Reduction is our specialty. We implement a variety of process changes, chemistry, biology, and experience to adapt your facility to treat your problem. In the past, we have successfully resolved Toxicity, BOD, TSS, Phosphate, Antimony and other heavy metals, and chronic biological system distress.
  • Our experienced staff can develop, implement, and oversee complex treatment processes so your operators can focus on accomplishing important and relentless day to day tasks.

Chemistry

  • Coagulants
    • Coagulants are used to neutralize charges on particles to allow for coagulation and flocculation. These flocculated particles can then settle out of solution, reducing: BOD, COD, TSS, Metals, Oil and Grease, Turbidity, Color, Transmittance, Toxicity, and other parameters.
    • We use organic and inorganic coagulants in a wide array of industries including: food processing, textiles, metal plating, publicly owned treatment works, and many more.
  • Dewatering Flocculants
    • Whether you are running a belt press, filter press, centrifuge, or screw press it is critical to select the proper dewatering chemistry. The right flocculant will generate good floc, dewater solids, interact appropriately with the filter media, and do so at the most efficient feed rate. A press operating with the proper flocculant at the proper feed rate will reduce clean outs, keep the filter media clear, and produce higher percent solids, reducing labor, transportation, and disposal fees.
  • Defoamers
    • Various scenarios can cause foaming throughout different parts of a wastewater treatment plant. We offer a variety of defoaming products that can reduce and eliminate foam regardless of the source.

Operations

  • The most difficult part of selecting a contract wastewater operator is finding someone who cares as much about your facility as you do. ISI always puts the customer first and will always be there when you need us. Our “A” Biological and “A” Chemical/Physical Operators can provide daily, weekly, or monthly on-site operator of record services.
  • ISI provides three types of operations service:
    • Pretreatment Coordination/Compliance
      • Implementation and administration of municipal pretreatment programs
    • Administrative
      • Permit writing and renewals
      • DMR completion and submittal
      • Data compilation and analysis
    • Plant Operation
      • Compliance sampling
      • Compliance parameter recording
      • Process control parameter recording
      • Process changes/full service

Our monitoring and service plan will keep your system operating at optimal efficiency while maintaining permit compliance.

We also offer Cooling Water System Treatment and Boiler Treatment in South Carolina, North Carolina & Georgia.
